The Postnatal Support Network is a not-for-profit organization that operates solely in the public interest for charitable, scientific or educational purposes, and more specifically for the purposes of: (i) contributing to the social, cultural and moral well-being of new mothers, and (ii) improving lives and protecting new families by bringing about changes in the way postnatal care is understood, implemented and promoted.
The Postnatal Support Network seeks to achieve its goals by:
- building awareness about a well-prepared and healing 40-day postnatal period and educating the public on the importance of supporting and caring for newborn mothers;
- connecting families with postnatal doulas and with their community (family, friends, neighbours, etc.);
- coordinating the demand and response of trained support via a Postnatal Doula Directory;
- training post-partum professionals and parents;
- building bridges and connecting professionals in the field of postnatal care;
- generating research with the purpose of demonstrating clearly the health and social benefits of a prolonged rest and care during the postnatal period as an efficient prevention of postnatal depression and the cortège of family dysfunction that comes along with this;
- recognizing the Postnatal Doula as a profession;
- encouraging health ministries to subsidize help for all mothers post-partum independently, from their financial situation;
- honouring the importance of voluntary work of our Board Members and active participation of our members.
Fundraising
The foundation’s income is derived from:
* donations from individuals;
* contributions and donations from organisations;
* Fundraising activities are conducted in a transparent and responsible manner and are aligned with the public-benefit mission of the foundation.
Use of Funds
All funds received are used exclusively to further the foundation’s objectives, including:
* programmes and activities supporting postnatal care and education;
* training and awareness initiatives;
* development and maintenance of informational materials and digital platforms;
* limited organisational and administrative costs necessary for the foundation’s operations.
The foundation does not accumulate capital beyond what is reasonably required to ensure continuity of its activities.
Remuneration
The members of the Board do not receive any remuneration, either indirectly or immediately. Costs are reimbursed on presentation of the supporting documents.

The foundation maintains a clear and transparent financial administration.
Each year, a financial overview is prepared, including:
* income received;
* expenses incurred;
* the annual result and any reserves.
